Roots & Shoots

Roots & Shoots in Nepal has been active since 2006. As a part of the Jane Goodall Fooundation's youth and education program, this entitiy is solely run by young people.

What, why and where is Roots & Shoots?

The club started as a response to the questions raised by young students of a school in a Tanzanian Village in the year 1990. Started by young people to address and resolve the issues they see in their own locality, this program aims to encourage young people to question the usual relationship between nature and us, and also encourage to change that dynamic for the better.

Creating a healthier environment for all requires everyone's effort and most importantly, information regarding the environment to be workded with. This program empowers young through information. Knowing the ins and outs of how our locl ecologies work, who and how is that governed or managed helps in understanding how to make it better for animals, plants and us, humans.

In Nepal, Roots & Shoots started in 2006, and has been acive in schools as an eco club through which many campaigns and programs have been run by the school students.
